Upgrading Your Plan

Step-by-step guide to upgrading your Zenovay subscription, including how billing works and what to expect. Learn about upgrade in this getting started guide.

Ready to unlock more features? Upgrading your Zenovay plan is quick and your new features are available immediately.

How to Upgrade

  1. Open Billing Settings

    Go to Settings → Billing. Billing is managed per workspace, so only a workspace owner or admin can change the plan.

  2. Open the Plans Comparison

    Click Upgrade Plan (or Change Plan if you're already on a paid tier) to open the plans comparison, where you can see all tiers side by side.

  3. Choose Your Plan and Volume

    Pick the plan that fits your needs and use the volume slider to set your monthly event allowance:

    • Pro: Best for growing sites and small teams
    • Scale: Best for high-traffic sites, B2B identification, and the SQL query studio
    • Enterprise: Best for large organizations
  4. Select Billing Cycle

    Use the monthly/annual toggle:

    • Monthly: Pay each month, cancel anytime
    • Annual: Save 20% compared to monthly
  5. Enter Payment Details

    Add your payment method:

    • Credit or debit card
    • Payment is processed securely via Stripe
  6. Confirm Upgrade

    Review your order and confirm. Your new features are available immediately.

What Happens When You Upgrade

Immediate Changes

When your upgrade completes:

  • Features unlock instantly: Session replay, heatmaps, etc. become available
  • Limits increase: Higher event limits, more websites, more team members
  • Data retention extends: Historical data preserved longer (going forward)

Billing Adjustments

  • Pro-rated charge: You're charged for the remainder of your billing cycle
  • New cycle starts: Future charges are at the new plan rate
  • Credits applied: Any existing credit applies to your upgrade

If upgrading mid-cycle, you'll be charged a prorated amount for the remaining days.

Switching Billing Cycles

To switch from monthly to annual (or vice versa):

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Change Plan to open the plans comparison
  3. Use the monthly/annual toggle to select your preference
  4. Confirm the change

Adding a Payment Method

  1. Go to Settings → Billing → Payment

Updating Your Card

If your card expires or you get a new one:

  1. Add the new card as a payment method
  2. Set it as default
  3. Remove the old card (optional)

Trials

Zenovay's free trials are tied to the referral program rather than a blanket signup trial. When you and a referred friend both qualify, your account can be credited with a trial of paid features for a limited time. After the trial period ends, your workspace returns to its current plan unless you upgrade. See your Profile → Referrals page for details and any active trial credit.

    Add colleagues now that you have more seats.

    Set up uptime and performance alerts.

Payment Failed

If your payment doesn't go through:

  1. Verify card details are correct
  2. Check card hasn't expired
  3. Ensure sufficient funds/credit
  4. Contact your bank if declined
  5. Try a different payment method

Features Not Appearing

After upgrading, if features aren't visible:

  1. Refresh your browser (Ctrl/Cmd + R)
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Log out and log back in
  4. Wait a few minutes for propagation
  5. Contact support if issues persist

Billing Questions

  • Check Settings → Billing → Invoices for your invoice history
  • Review charges in your payment provider

Downgrading

If you need to downgrade later:

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Change Plan to open the plans comparison
  3. Select a lower tier
  4. Confirm the downgrade

Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Some features and data may be affected.
