Zenovay AI features are available on Pro plans and above, with daily message limits that vary by tier. Pro plans can send up to 20 AI messages per day, Scale plans get 75 messages per day, and Enterprise plans receive 300 messages per day. Free plan users do not have access to AI features. Each AI message — whether a natural language query, an insight request, or a follow-up question — counts toward your daily limit. The daily allowance is shared across your workspace (team), not granted separately to each member. Limits reset every 24 hours at midnight UTC. Automated insights, weekly digests, and anomaly detection notifications generated by the system do not count against your message quota. Understanding these limits helps you use AI strategically and get the most value from your plan.

AI features require Pro or higher. Upgrade from the Free plan to unlock natural language queries, automated insights, and AI recommendations.

Rate Limiting

In addition to daily limits, there is a per-minute rate limit of 10 queries per user. This prevents accidental rapid-fire usage from consuming your daily quota.

Key distinction: Messages you actively send to AI count. Automated insights that AI generates on its own do not.

How Limits Reset

AI message limits follow a simple daily reset cycle:

  • Reset time: Midnight UTC (00:00 UTC) every day
  • Reset scope: Per workspace (team) — the daily allowance is shared among everyone on the team, not granted separately per member
  • Unused messages: Do not roll over to the next day
  • Mid-day upgrade: If you upgrade your plan during the day, the new limit takes effect immediately

Checking Your Remaining Messages

When you are running low, the Ask Zenovay assistant shows a reminder of how many messages you have left for the day (for example, "3 messages left") along with the reset time. If you reach your daily limit, the assistant tells you directly and stops accepting new questions until the limit resets.

Tips for Using AI Effectively

Prioritize High-Value Questions

With a limited daily budget, focus on questions that deliver actionable insights:

  • Good: "Why did conversion rate drop 15% this week compared to last week?"
  • Better than: "How many visitors today?" (which you can read directly from the dashboard)

Use Follow-Ups Wisely

Each follow-up counts as a separate message. Make your initial query specific enough to reduce the need for follow-ups:

Leverage Free Automated Insights

Automated insights, anomaly alerts, and weekly digests do not count against your limit. Let the system surface important changes automatically, and save your messages for deeper investigation.

Save Useful Queries

Save queries you use often so you can re-run them without retyping:

  1. Run a query, then open the query history panel
  2. Star the query to add it to your Favorites
  3. Re-open it any time from the Favorites tab in the history panel
  4. Re-running a saved query still uses one message

FAQ

What happens when I reach my daily AI message limit?

The Ask Zenovay assistant tells you that you have reached your daily limit. You can still view existing insights, dashboards, and previously generated AI results, but you cannot send new questions until the limit resets at midnight UTC.

Do AI messages used by other team members affect my limit?

Yes. The daily AI message allowance is shared across your workspace (team), so messages sent by any team member draw from the same pool. The size of that pool is set by your team's plan tier.

Can I purchase additional AI messages?

Currently, additional AI message packs are not available for purchase separately. If you consistently need more messages, consider upgrading to a higher plan tier.

Do MCP tool calls count toward my AI message limit?

No. The Zenovay MCP server has its own separate daily query quota, tracked independently from the in-app AI message limit described here. Using MCP does not draw down your in-app AI messages, and vice versa.

When exactly do limits reset?

Limits reset at midnight UTC (00:00 UTC) every day, regardless of your local timezone or billing cycle date.

I upgraded mid-day. Do I get the new limit immediately?

Yes. When you upgrade your plan, the new daily AI message limit takes effect immediately. Your used count for the day remains, but the total available increases to the new tier's limit.
